I think knives are just like our guns,we'll all have personal favorites. I have Kbar's,Spyderco's,Gerber's, etc. All good knives. I've recently became a huge ESEE fan. Made in the USA,no BS warranty, fair prices, great edge, and easy to sharpen.

I see people like the seal pup, but it's made in Taiwan, and that's a turn off for me. Is it that good?

For around the same price the Seal Pup elite retails for, you can get a 100% USA made ESEE, that IS IMO better than the Sog.

Had this one. It seemed pretty good. It just seemed to bulky for me and belt carry.

Was it a Gerber LMF II or the older style?

I've heard from more than one person that the LMF II has trouble holding an edge. Just what I've heard though (from multiple people).

I am pretty sure I had the Gerber LMF II, but it has been several years now since I sold it.

It's a beast of a knife and hard to sharpen and keep an edge. I bought one before I started with ESEE's. JMHO
