What about the Gerber LMF? Anyone have one of those?
Was it a Gerber LMF II or the older style?
I've heard from more than one person that the LMF II has trouble holding an edge. Just what I've heard though (from multiple people).
"There are no finger prints under water."
The Companion and the Brute. I believe in tool steel!!!
I did too, till I found out how hard to sharpen my D2 Kabar is.
Scrapyard knives are just about as good as it gets IMO. Smaller company cause they don't really make any of the cheap crap people like to buy (your everyday folder). Look up knife destruction tests on youtube, there's a guy that does em. Check out the one for the SEAL and the one for the Scrapyard, a lot of us (including me) have a SEAL/pup so keep in mind how good of a knife it is, then compare it to the Scrapyard. That video is what sold me on them.
FYI the destruction tests, the guy basically cuts shit from softest to toughest and sees how it does (starts with a piece of fruit, ends with steel plate or concrete), tests how well they chop, pry, chisel, etc. till he breaks it.
Are you guys with the Seal Pups happy with the Taiwan steel? I see the early ones can be had at a premium, and they were made in Seki City.
