    Default My first 1911... sigh....

It's official - the diehard Glock fan (that's me - cause you guys don't know me yet) has finally broken his 1911 cherry. I finally see the light, like a shining star floating down on my poor misbegotten head. lol. I can't believe what I've been missing all these years! I turned my nose up at 1911 fans for so long, not understanding just what the magic is about this gun. Well, out of curiosity's sake, I bought one off of a new found friend of mine. Aside from being a great guy, and a patient old hand with someone of my relative inexperience with firearms, he's also the only person who's been able to show me exactly what makes a 1911 so great. I'm now a proud owner, a giddy shooter, and a diehard fanatic-to-be! The natural point of aim, the tame recoil (I've got a permenant wrist injury to my right hand that prevents me from shooting most .45's - this 1911 being the exception.) and the overall heft and confidence of it.... I could ramble for hours. But hey, most of you probably already know what I'm talking about, right?

See, there really is a reason the 1911 form factor is still around after 100 years.

Springfield Armory GI-1911 A-1 is one of my favorite guns to shoot. I really like the feel and the hefftiness ( is that a word?) in my hand. I have the night sights on it . And if it was smaller and lighter I'd consider it as my primary carry gun.

Try a scandium framed 4.25" S&W. I believe it's the perfect carry piece.

I thought you already had a scandium S&W in .45acp? Or is that 'just' one of the airlights or something like that?
