Learned something new today. I'm going to have a wound vacuum. Im still laughing at the thought of it. Apparently its to create negative pressure around the surgical injury to promote healing & adhesion of yet another round of donor tissue. Like a space bag only different.

    For future reference, I?m squeamish.

I don?t deal well with blood and guts and medical stuff.

I?ve had to quickly scroll past the photo you posted so I don?t get nauseous.

    Hope you heal up well.

<----Totally not squeamish. I've seen some shit, and you just deal with it. The periphery of the incision and staples? Child's play.

I've had one on my back for my last spinal surgery. The most irritating thing about it was the noise from the pump, IMO. No fluid ever was drawn through the vacuum line, but the incision healed amazingly well.

    Any suggestions?
HIPPA for the reason. Wonder if they ever asked the donors if they cared?

Donor = DDIDH, he won't mind nickname. Could become a duo, Chick n Stitch.

What were you afflicted with? Injury?

Looks like a trauma chest seal to me but I think they want to pressure graduate so I need a fancy device. Apparently they aren't inexpensive but do balance out costs over the long term.

    Oh?

Yeah I imagine I'm going to grow tired of the whirring pretty quickly. One of those suck it up moments Im sure. Its just noise & in trade Im thankful that I get to keep my leg.
