Fireworks at nearly 1 am. That was fun. People suck.

I have also noticed the natives getting restless at odd hours on what would normally be a work day. I hope these idiots get back to work soon so they?ll go to bed because they have to work the next day.

My neighbors run some sort of unlicensed daycare of some sort and usually it?s summer months where they really have an abundance of screaming kids in their back yard all day. With all of the little munchkins not having school for months they?ve had tons of kids all of the time lately.

At least it should cool down by November so all the noisy people stay indoors.

Well I got to hit the range today. I looked at the toys and most of them did not speak to me. Probably time to readjust the portfolio so to speak.
Grabbed a revolver, and man that thing still puts a smile on my face every time I run it. The braced AR is growing on me. Not sure what it is about it but that was plain old fun just like back in the day when a 10 22 and a tin o? 22lr would keep me busy all day.
Honestly I was not sure about the braced pistols but they are so fun.

At the batting cage with my kid.
I tip a ball which hit my calf. Funny my other leg muscles are twitching.

My kid hit (tipped) few softballs.

had a hospital visit for ct scan. Walked in the nurse scans for a temp then hands me a mask. I say. You know these things don't work if they're not worn properly. Looking at her as her mask is hanging off her chin.

WELL IF YOU HAD WORN ONE IN, YOU WOULDN'T NEED ME TO GIVE YOU ONE, she says, very politely.

I know, since i have a beard this is absolutely useless . Curious how often are you fit tested for the one you're wearing?

Today I took 3 cu yards of conifer slash to the forestry sort yard and came back with some excellent composted wood soil material. Using it for landscaping and gardening. All at no cost, except for taxes....

Every year I cut a lot of trees and remove slash for fire mitigation.

You mean like groom your part of the forest? So as to have a healthy naturally fire resistant forest? Like freaking manage the forest?

Sorry, flashback to the 80's and some of the oddball decisions by forestry in relation to timber management and forestry practices.

Was worried they might come for you, resembling a conservationist and all.

Yes, I am working to manage the forest for fire mitigation and develop habitat enhancements to maximize plant and wildlife diversity. It's an effort to integrate our home as a part of the natural environment rather than apart from it. (Something most city dwellers don't think about).

For several decades it seemed that the USFS failed to manage the forests but I suspect it was substantially prevented by endless lawsuits by anti management groups. Now, after so many mountain communities have been damaged by fire, the county and forest service have joined to manage the forest to protect homes from fire. I think they're doing a good job here.

Yep. Management was pretty well shutdown. No logging. Let it become beetle kill and catch on fire seemed to be the strategy preferred by the enviros.

You can harvest and replant, or it will burn. Either will ultimately bring diversity to the ecosystem.
