Not so for the Toyota dealer by me (Larry H Miller on Motor Way in the Springs)...

Took my truck there twice, both times sucked ass. When I got the truck, I had all fluids front to rear changed out. After a couple weeks, I noticed I would get weird noises from the rear when making turns. After a couple months, I finally figured it out. On the rear differential the fill bolt is right behind this gigantic sticker that says "USE LIMITED SLIP DIFFERENTIAL OIL ONLY" and surely, their service guy wouldn't be so damn stupid as to use normal gear oil right? I mean, the entire time he'd be filling it, there's this sticker the size of his forehead telling him what to do you know? Besides, that's what the truck was designed for. Sure enough, that's what they did.

The second time, the guy who works in the office but is the liason between the wrenches in the bay and the customer decided it was a good time to leave for two hours. That I'm sitting in the waiting room waiting for my truck to be done. Issue was, it was done about 5 minutes after he left and my keys/service order were sitting on his desk, and he never got anyone to cover for him.

Two for two failures. Screw them....

Those 2 incidents are not acceptable by toyota or any manufacturer franchisees.
1st incident is definitely a toyota usa corporate call for many customers. 2nd one should have been a quick apology and voucher for free oil change (If i was a general manager).

Toyota and other big manufacturer appointment is about month out. I had to call late Oct to make yesterday's appt.

You're damn right it's not acceptable, the key is, they've lost me as a service dept customer for life, so going any further with them is a complete waste of my time. The thing is, they're kind of known down here for being a crappy service dept, several folks I know with Toyotas won't go there because of years of issues like this. Most of the routine stuff I do myself anyway, I figured I would just give them a shot and they blew it. More advanced stuff, I have a choice right near me between "Courtesy Automotive" and "Asshole's Garage." Yes, that's their name (https://www.yelp.com/biz/assholes-ga...rado-springs-2) and they both do great work.

Meh. 2020 kind of has me on edge. Probably only a matter of time before I have to start being honest with friends and family about how I really feel about things.

Thankfully my family, based on phone conversations, feel the same way. Even the friends (OK) acquaintances, i know. Already know my opinion / position on things, Both cv-19 and election related.
