Was there in Kauai many years ago before there was a way for the public to drive all the way around the island. At that time it was really really a place to relax. In fact if you didn't eat supper before 8pm you were out of luck because they would be closed already.

A young friend from Rifle went to the finals riding bulls and won a season total $241,446. Not bad for a 20 year old kid, #3 in the world and bull-riding rookie of the year.

That he can. His whole family have been rodeo cowboys and some in the outfitting business. When he was a young boy he helped me pack elk out of the woods several times. A few years ago Colten's younger brother rode with me to pack an elk out of the deep spruce forest. He was five years old, could mount and ride that horse through the timber as well as anyone. Just remarkable. His late uncle Ron was a bull wrestler and I've watched him wrestle recalcitrant horses to the ground. I worked for Colten's grand uncle who was a skilled horseman and outfitter. If he needed to go somewhere 50 yards away he wouldn't walk, he'd get on a horse and ride there.

The current crop of Colorado rodeo cowboys is the best it has been in several years.

I usually keep our house at 68 degrees. The arguments usually start at around 70 degrees. When we came home from Hawaii, my house had been set at, and was holding steady at 76 degrees. I don't even want to know how much that cost me.

Tonight we got yelled at for blowing a conch shell to thank the sun because, "It is an annoying sound," and then again because we've been, "slamming all the doors," since Friday. We're a small family on vacation, but there is only a single door in the whole condo. The neighbors haven't closed their door for days now.

Last night (our last) we had Hotel management knocking on the door because someone complained of someone smoking in the hotel (we absolutely don't smoke.)
