Today, I picked up a commercial ice maker/water dispenser. Going to try to run it on the kitchen counter until we move, then it's going in my shop. WAY overkill, but it was a deal I couldn't pass up. Makes up to 500lb of nugget ice per day.

    This machine.

That might be just big enough to supply my wife's daily ice usage.

Default Greetings from The Land of Ice and Snow!

Finally, the sun is peeking out just before settling behind the mountain. In two days we've had about 30 inches of fresh snow on top of the ~15 inches already on the ground. More than the nearby Ward, Brainard Lake and Longs Peak areas. We're in a perfect vortex off the Peak to Peak where rain and snow funnels as it crosses the Continental Divide.

Yesterday I ran the Toro snowthrower twice and plowed the driveway once, a nearly all day job. This morning we plowed twice and ran the Toro for about 3 hours. Finally all cleared out!

The state plows haven't kept up here. There's a good 8 inches on the highway. They'll get it clear by morning and I'll plow again so we can get mail delivery.

BTW, the CDOT is looking to hire 260 snow plow drivers statewide. They pay $47K to $62K a year and will train and get you a CDL, commercial driver license.

Been low 30's and colder, not counting wind chill at the range last week. Broke 50, yesterday, the range was packed till closing.
