    Haha, dang, was hoping I could get two posts back to back.

    I would say at least an inch for drainage. When I rerouted my water line, I did a total of 2 inches, but that was mostly to provide a cushion for the PEX pipe so none of the huge ass rocks would puncture it.

    And wait, what am I offering advice on thicknesses of sand for? I just saw someone asking for how thick and threw out some numbers.
