Just doing what I can to stay on this side of the dirt.
*slowly backs out of the thread, holding nose, and looking nervously around.*
Clearly I came in here at the wrong time...

Nah, my telescope doesn't look for asteroids. We look at the center of the Milky Way and further away at quasars and other objects. We don't look for puny, insignificant things like asteroids.
But a while ago, the 3.5m telescope had a program that woudl take control of the telescope and slew to the coords for a gamma ray burst or other phenomenon like that and start taking images. They got rid of the program though for some reason.
But for the record, I have seen two, thats right, TWO UFO's.
Sure, they were probably military vehicles operating out of Holloman AFB, but I couldn't hear any engines at all and they were moving in zigzaggy patterns, making very quick 90deg turns.

Haha, awesome! I'm sure they have a lot of really cool projects going on at Holloman, but also at White Sands Missile Range. My pre-marital counselor from our church was telling us about some of the things he worked on while working at WSMR, and let me tell you, they were really awesome sounding.
