Vinegarroons are carnivorous, nocturnal hunters feeding mostly on insects and millipedes,^[2] but sometimes on worms and slugs. Yup, exactly! They'll give you a heart attack when they surprise you, but they move slow and they eat spiders and scorpions, so they're good to keep around. They always show up in my garage in the summer, haven't had one in the house. But they're about 3" in length and are definitely scary looking.
