I wasn't necessarily uncomfortable with my OAL, but I'd like to pickup common reloading practices, such as loading 55gr FMJ to the shorter end of the spectrum at 2.220" and longer bullets closer to the maximum 2.260" length.

I hear ya. it's one of the reasons i use 2 powders for pistol and rifle. Titegroup / pistol and 2230 / the AR's. I have TAC and x-terminator as back up. However knowing your comfort zone is one less puzzle piece to worry about.

All the 55gr I've loaded has been 2.20-2.22. Ya know. Since you can never get them all the same...

    And..... I don't crimp...... I'm a rebel.

I agree. At this point, I'm loading 9mm, 40 and 223 and can already see how minimizing powders will be smart in the long run. Just found out that my LGS is getting 10#'s of Varget on Thursday. I have 3 "reserved". Didn't want to be too greedy, besides I only have 1k bullets at this point and 3lbs is enough to get me through those bullets.

Mine are all usually within 0.003-0.004" of each other, at least of the 35 that I've loaded . Pistol I can usually get to be within 0.002" without even trying.

Ooh snap, no crimping?! But, but... what happens when the zombies hit and you get scared while loading your one 30rd AR mag (cause you only told the gov you had 1, right?) and then drop all of those 30 bullets (cause you don't have a stockpile of ammo either) onto concrete and they land bullet tip down?!

Oh, and hoping its a sign of good things to come, my Walmart also had about 1k of WWB and Federal Bulk 9mm. I was shocked to see it sitting on the shelves. They also got a bunch of large caliber rifle stuff. That's the first time ammo has been on the shelves at my walmart since december last year.

I don't shoot an AR.... It's all bolt gun... No worries about that stuff.

By ricers you mean "douche bags in stupid cars?" If that's the case, yes.

I guess that explains why most of your hand loads are v-max or ballistic tipped bullets...
