the 77.5 - 79 f250s get better ratings than the highboys but highboys are highboys
i read that ground clearance is pretty much even b/c the divorced transfer case on the highboy hangs down more than the integrated t-case on a 78 for instance
ford started using dana 60s in 78 - i've seen a couple of 77.5-79 f250s with dana 60 rear and dana 44 front
just to give an example of the progression my 03 f250 has a sterling 10.5 (dana 70 close or equivalent) in the rear and a dana 60 up front

I really need a Hornady reloading manual... But I really don't want to pay for it....
yah them manuals are $$ and they don't always have the most current data
i look at them and go online and decide from there
I never noticed that about the T case, interesting.
Cool trucks though, I love those bodies, but hated the '79 grille.....so I bought round headlight buckets and '78 grill inserts and grille, found it reasonable too....used and at the Sabers swap meet. Was able to find a new Ford dash pad..still in original packaging. $100. That was a nice find.
