I'm definitely excited, been waiting for this thing for nearly 3 weeks now! (from initially purchasing it on layaway through buds that is)

I've waited a year for a LaRue rifle. It better be worth it!
Just doing what I can to stay on this side of the dirt.

Exactly, now you know why I've been obsessing over it these past few days. It landed at my FFL last wednesday and I thought i'd get to take it with me on my workshift and do lots of dry-fire with it, but nope, he just HAD to go out of town even though I emailed him 2 weeks prior before I ordered it asking if he was planning on going out of town anytime in the next month so this sort of situation wouldn't happen.

Yea, well this is now the second time he's gone on a trip when I've ordered a firearm shipped to him that's been delivered the "day he leaves" and delays my transfer by a week. If he were to tell me he was going on a trip when I asked, it wouldn't be a big deal. But both times, he has said he didn't have anything planned and then a few days later, he's going out of town.

I shot an XDm .45acp (full size) at my last CCW re-certification (2 yr refresher course BS) and it was VERY nice. I shot it extremely accurately at 25yds even (like 3" ragged hole). I just don't like the beavertail safety thing on the XD line. When a friend let me shoot his M&P9c, I fell in love with that even more than the XDm, which I had thought about getting for HD.

And frankly, I use him as my FFL because he's literally, just down the street from me. I could walk to his house if I desired. And he is willing to meet any time since he works out of his home. His transfer price is a little high ($25) compared to other people, but I pay for the convenience and location. Might just start using a local pawn shop that charges only $10, even though they take about 15min longer to process the transfer than my current guy does.

I don't have any nuggets. On my last night of a workshift, an hour away from civilization. I could go for a beer too! Might have to grab one when I get home at 7am...
