More expensive ammo and to say you own a 6.8. But don't take my word for it, I know nothing of the cartridge.

Anyone got anything else to add? Is jim still up?

I have a 300Blackout that I built for hog hunting and thought the 6.8 would be better for longer ranges.

Definitely interested in the 300blk, sounds like a fun round and would increase my desire for a can.

Then again, I want to get into the long range game first, so the 300blk will have to wait.

6.5 Grendel? Thought about that cartridge too, but the magazines are different I hear.

More energy than 5.56 with roughly the same range I think. Still doing research on it.

Nah, I mean long long range ie Remington 700 in 308 for 600+ yards.

I don't know anything about the 6.5grendel, but the appeal of the 300blk is the subsonic loads with a can.

The 308 would be my first large caliber rifle.

The Grendel uses 6.5mm projectiles that have superior BC compared to .308 projectiles. You can reach out out 1000yds with a 30" barrel bolt gun.

6.5 Grendel stays super sonic at 1000 yards.

From what I have read, anyway.

Sent from my teepee using smoke signals.
