I've been on E* for something like 15 or 16 years and am generally a big proponent. Never was a fan of any cable services. Their service, products, and with the introduction of digital video, image quality sucks. Hands down Comcast for internet, fuck Qwest and the horse they rode in on. 18 months of pure hell on their worthless DSL.

Now, to be clear, the Hopper blows the D* Genie system away and I am happy to have stayed with Dish and now have this system. I'm just frustrated that the EHD issue with Hopper seems widespread and isn't being resolved through tech support. Seems the DIRT (Dish Internet Response Team) on their forum is the only few guys that can get it working.

I'd also like to point out that the (Logitech) Harmony issue is not related to the E* issue. My dumbfuckery for losing the account info. There's another user in it because I bought the second one refurb fom Logitech and apparently they don't whack them quite enough. I'll just load everything up for both rooms into one profile and move the "Watch TV" activity to the top for each respective room and load the same config in both remotes. The only real difference is the receiver and TV model and settings loaded into the activity.

On the upside, I did get my $30 (free) OTA USB dongle today and at least it works.

This all started with a tech support call for my old DVR randomly dropping video/audio during downloaded material playback.

When they started talking receiver replacement, I pushed the upgrade scenario. After determining the cost, I was like hell yes! I had new tv's on order for all the other rooms anyway.

I did make it a point to tell the tech working the upgrade deal:

1. I have an HDTV OTA antenna setup that needs to work
2. I have caller ID that needs to work
3. I will purchase a new EHD to backup/restore my programming and it needs to work

I was assured that all three requirements would be met.

Sadly, every tech I've spoken to since, with the exception of the DIRT, has told me the ViP622 EHD disk format isn't recognizable by the Hopper. Consequently, I deleted the partitions at their prompting and let the Hopper reformat the drive so my material is gone forever. Most precious was the Life series and Truth in 24. I think TI24 is available on DVD.

Anybody know where to get either Talon grips or Decal grips for Glock locally? Don't feel the question was worth it's own thread, hopefully some of you post whores know, lol.

Neves has a full line of Decal grips, I was there today, but they are currently out of the "rubberized style". No Talon.
