I've always kinda been interested in the whole mafia/mob history.

What's another month or so? You can get it pretty quick, you just have to seriously save your pennies, like EVERY one of them. If you want it faster, I'm talking about pb&j and ramen for two months, while saving all the rest of the money.

my honest recommendation is for you to get what will serve you best, and not just for right now.

as far as the money for reloading, that sounds like an excuse to me, bro. Say it with me: Lee Classic Reloader. $35. buy it from amazon. All in one loader to get you started. $30 in bullets, $10 in primers, $25 in powder. Buy it in stages.

Youre on the right path by thinking of all the stuff that you'd need. Just think really hard about what your ultimate end goal is going to be. Actually write it down, make a plan, and REALLY analyze everything.
I'm already setup to reload, its just buying another set of dies, bullets, primers, powders and keeping those in stock in addition to all my others. I have had great success with Lee dies, and will honestly probably get them for 308 too (not sure if I should get full length or neck sizing though).

its only because I'd rather you get the right gear for you.

convincing you out of it will only solidify your resolve when you do make the purchase. If I try to talk you into a gun, then you'll just blame me if it sucks.

the first bolt gun I bought was a R700 ADL from Walmart. I paid about $400 for it, and when I get around to shooting the barrel off of it, I'll maybe get a different caliber for it, maybe not. That's my plan, anyways.
No, thanks, I appreciate it. I really do swing back and forth like crazy. Every purchase I make has a least a weeks worth of studying, reading reviews, comparing. My wife hated it at first, until she saw how much it saved us money at times and we ended up with what we really wanted.

Why’s that? Do you have a story you want to share with the rest of the class? It was held at a winery. About 80 people attended (Fortune 500 company, it was for the region so lots of offices). Cash bar though, so no worries there .

The rifle is very accurate and I've shot 0.5 MOA groups quite a few times at 100 and 200 yards. I'm no pro marksman either... It has served me very well. I love the gun..

That said, I would have saved for the 5R if I had the sense that Mr Belly has... It's a keeper and I wish I would have just pulled the trigger for the upgrade back then. I wouldn't even know the difference between the extra $500 now. Take Belly's word and don't buy the SPS if you can eat pbj for a while.
Is the 5R really that much of a unicorn? It seems everyone praises it like its the holy grail of rifles, yet there are few honest, unbiased reviews out there. Or is it just the omg-its-got-the-same-twist-barrel-as-the-M24-need-to-have-cuz-tacticool?

I have an SWFA SS 10x MilQuad on my 22LR rifle, which I purchased with the intent of bumping it up to the 700 down the road. But I honestly love that scope so much (in the few times that I’ve shot it) that I might end up buying a second one for the 700.

Alright alright, you guys have convinced me enough that I’ll rethink my plan yet again. Why not though, I can’t buy it yet so I might as well rethink it over and over and over. At the very least, I’m considering the 700P more just because it comes with the stock I planned on upgrading to eventually.
