Hey HB, if I remember correctly in CO, it is two PAIRS of lights on at one time AND the lights have to be BELOW a height of 54" (or something similar to that). So that makes roof mounted lights illegal on road.

That's not to say that when I had my 4x 150w lights on the roof of my xterra that I didn't turn them on every now and then...

Also, please for the love of all things, tell me you got it in a manual.

Right, but a 106" vs a 143" wheelbase, along with an additional inch and half of ground clearance sure makes a big difference for getting into and out of those tight spots. Also, having an approach angle of 33* and a departure angle of 30* means less bottoming out and dragging ass over obstacles while maneuvering.

Im not saying you can't go wheeling in a stock truck (I did all the time) but now my vehicle should be capable of even more fun, so I want to go see what it can do.

Lol but those lights are AWESOME for driving down open roads at night.

in any case, I would have loved to get a manual, but because this is my daily driver and I use it to cart the kid around everywhere, I opted for the convenience of the auto. Flame me all you want, but someday when I get another manual, it'll be something small, quick, and sporty like a Porsche Cayman.

HB, to start with, get some Shrockworks sliders: http://www.shrockworks.com/nissan

Then, for suspension, check out calmini: http://www.calmini.com/brand.php?b=1

If that isn't enough to spend your money on, get active on roninwheelers.com and check out some of those guys' rigs (use to be Rocky Mountain Xterra Club, but was disbanded and reformed without a bunch of BS).

You mean like a Mini Cooper S? Go drive one of those and a Porsche will seem slow. I know, I used to drive my dad's 1999 996 quite frequently and I love the Mini more! And no, its not just because I can afford to drive a Mini and not the Porsche

And for the record, my 04 X has a 2" body lift, 1.5" Calmini shackles, thicker torsion bars (they're red, think I got them from 4x4parts.com, a nissan site) cranked up to 1.5" front suspension, Calmini gas tank skid plate (went wheeling when stock and landed on a rock, crushed my stock gas tank skid plate into the gas tank on the trail and reduced the gas tank capacity by about half a gallon lol, got VERY lucky), back up switch activated 50W roof mounted lights, shrockworks rock sliders which I used OFTEN with my hijack to lift up the entire half of the truck for rotating tires, etc lol

Sounds like an awesome ride! Right now, my Xterra is going to stay stock because we have bills to pay, but I have had my eyes on those Shrockworks sliders. I'm also planning on adding a cold air intake and eventually putting a real bumper on it. I saw one the other day by Hefty Fabworks or something like that... It looked pretty awesome.

All I can say is Shrock all the way! I got out of wheeling a while back so I didn't add the Shrock bumpers, not to mention it would have added about 250-300lbs to the truck and reduced the fuel efficiency which is already low.

The Shrock slides also help with side impact collisions. Since they bolt directly to the frame, they reinforce the frame and act somewhat as a crumple zone or something. Also, since they stick out wider than the vehicle body, they are an anti-door ding. Well, they'll ding doors, but only of people who open THEIR doors into your truck. LOL

Besides, if you got a new toy and DIDNT have a list of things to drop thousands of dollars on, was that toy really a toy to begin with?
