Belly, in your opinion, what's the furthest reasonable distance an accomplished shooter can reach with an AR platform .223/5.56, with premium optics and normal shooting conditions, with either a semi or bolt set up?
..and what optic would you recommend for said rifle in semi form?

i built mine. I can get a hit on an ipsc torso at 750. I have hit a prairie dog at 417. This was with hand loads...
as far as having any punch left on the round, I honestly wouldn't go past about 500, depending on the barrel length.
Just doing what I can to stay on this side of the dirt.
