In other news, I was watching a video of a rocket launching a satellite into orbit, and got to explain to the rest of the crowd why the rocket plume changed shape, and how that impacts thrust efficiency. This is one of the reasons why we do staging (the other main reason for staging is to dump the excess weight of the empty boosters and rocket components).

Went and did another 5k last night....snapped a pic. I look like I'm out in Alaska! At least they are getting easier!
I'm home for 3 more days then out again. After the next trip I'll be halfway through this craziness. Unfortunately I'm not going anywhere high on the desirability list. But meh, I'll make the best of it.
