I'm home for 3 more days then out again. After the next trip I'll be halfway through this craziness. Unfortunately I'm not going anywhere high on the desirability list. But meh, I'll make the best of it.

I just booked my next trip. Back to FL end of the month.

Hopefully, this time I won't be sick.

Yeah, rocket science really isn't that complicated... The phrase "it's not rocket science, you know" is from back in the days when we were still trying to figure it out and every other rocket would blow up on the launch pad.

Yes, 6mo is a long time. But they pay for my ENTIRE stay down there, food/lodging/rental-car etc. That's on top of my standard salary. And they're also considering sending my wife down with me for that trip since its so long.

Id say its a must!

Once a year, my wife brings up doing a mission thing for the hospital she works at. They cover in country expenses and pay her salary, but we'd have to foot the travel bill and I'd be mostly fawked for work unless I had good intarwebz and had some remote projects.

South America, African continent mostly from what I understand. IIRC, it's a 3-6 month gig.
