HB, you might not have seen some other posts I've made about my somewhat limited experience with scopes. I've openly admitted that I can use more time with my Nikon M-223, ($350) and plan to do so when it's mounted on a different rifle. The reasoning I've used in getting higher quality glass is based off of a few different things. One would be "old man" eyes, and another would be that I eventually plan to get a designated distance rifle in the somewhat near future. I'm buying some accessories for this AR 223, that will be transferred over to that new rifle whenever that time comes. One that is capable of shooting accurately at distances of over say, 1500 yards...on the equipment side of things.
The other side of the gun that actually makes it go *bang*, is a whole other story. That guy, has a lot of work to do, no matter what,...... but I'd rather be doing it with quality stuff. Is my new scope going to be more capable than I am right now? Yes, it is...and that is the challenge that I have provided for myself, and readily accept.
