I imagine it's partly the (very open) tread pattern and partly the material. Some complain about the "new" Pronghorn, and I think they've been redesigned even again since I got these nearly three years ago, but I sure do love those boots. Comfy from day 1, warm (only 400 grams), sure footed, and tough as nails.

Slimy as it gets. Stuck on flat hard(compacted) level ground in 4WD. If it is worked ground(not compacted) it is bottomless if saturated.

Well, snow is fallin'. We have about 3 inches on the grass and about 1 inch on the driveway. If it drops below about 28* tonight, all that water/slush on the roads will become an icerink!
