Just finished up my preps for a batch of tex-mex style chili that's going in the crock pot tomorrow. I know jim is super disappointed that it's not Cincinnati style, but a mans gotta make due.
I got a good deal a few weeks ago on prime angus ground beef. $2/lb. Used the last of that up in the chili. I cooked up a couple chopped onions in the beef after it was browned..scooped up a spoonful and dashed some salt on that for a bite. Tasted just like White Castle. So I need to pick up some dinner rolls thus weekend and make myself some poor mans white castles for din din. I need to find just the right buns and also get some sliced pickles to complete that forgery.
