Planning to buy a house on Monday. Hope that goes as planned. I'm sick of living in this crappy little 1 bedroom hotel room that was built in the 50s!

Hey don't diss on 1950s houses bro. That's high quality hand-crafted work. I have been a carpenter by trade and back in the day they ripped those jobs up with high quality.

It's a TLF on Vandenberg AFB. It needs some serious work. I reported that the roof was leaking on the first night, and the front desk said "oh yeah, it's been doing that for a few years. It'll stop soon."

Lol understandable. Houses require constant attention like most other things to keep it in good condition. If not taken care of it'll do that. Don't clean and oil your guns see what happens lol that's my point. But if the walls are original try putting your first through one. IDC if you are Ronnie Coleman... It ain't happening. Almost two inch thick plastered walls over 50 years old are solid man.
It might as well be concrete but any manual labor worker with his or her salt knows concrete takes over 30 years to fully cure and reach maximum hardness..... Hence my reasoning behind older homes. Newer homes are nice but not able to withstand the beating you can give to older homes.

Also the jackass that said that needs to get on the ball before he or she has to do a major overhaul. So getting a new place is the better idea. Don't have to deal with the remodel or the nastiness of mold. From personal experience it's gross and not a fun job to handle.
