Birds, rodents, and domestic animals are specifically excluded.

Raccoons are considered part of the bear family and as such are not excluded. Bats aren't rodents either so there is coverage for damages from bats as well. HOWEVER, damages from feces and urine of bats and raccoons are specifically excluded.

Sewer back up? You betcha, as long as you have that coverage. I've seen a claim where a poor old lady couldn't control get bowels and left a shit trail through some rooms and down the hall trying to get to the toilet. This is considered a category 3 water loss, where items in contact with cat 3 water are not even attempted to be salvaged. So mitigation came out and cut all the poop trails out of the carpet, so the mitigation photos showed just strips of carpet cut out everywhere. Then you have to replace all the contiguous carpet.
