Didn't see the SpaceX launch today because it was foggy as heck, but I could hear it from almost 30 miles away. That was neat.

Can't embed a video, but this was today's landing attempt:

Read the comments on the right and understand how incredibly difficult this objective is.

In my mind, in such a dark and depressing world, space exploration is an inspiring adventure. I love it.

HoneyBadger, how did you feel about The Martian? Just watched it today.

SCOTT! What is your take on tankless water heaters? I'm not serious enough to start a thread about it, just want to know your opinion on them. Could I realistically replace my 50 gallon water heater with a tankless? In a ranch with no basement and no utility room, it'd really save a lot of space and clean up the laundry room. Do they tend to have catastrophic failures like regular water heaters?

Yes, absolutely. I wish I were smart enough to do space stuff, but I realized early on that I wasn't so never even looked to pursue.

Is it possible to get past Matt Damon's usually incredibly bad acting?

I don't know, I've always liked Matt Damon.
