SCOTT! What is your take on tankless water heaters? I'm not serious enough to start a thread about it, just want to know your opinion on them. Could I realistically replace my 50 gallon water heater with a tankless? In a ranch with no basement and no utility room, it'd really save a lot of space and clean up the laundry room. Do they tend to have catastrophic failures like regular water heaters?

    Haven't seen it yet! Sorry!

I do have a tankless water heater though. It functions just fine. I kind of miss having a 50gal tank of water in my basement though.

I will say, the insulation standards in CA are total sh*t. The water lines are not insulated and the attic is so terribly insulated that the cold water is always lukewarm and the hot water is too due to the amount of time it takes for the water to get from the heater to the faucet.

Why are there water lines in the attic at all?

You told me. A S/Steel bbl was not something you were interested in. I've been running CL, CM, and S/Steel for decades. Neither of them have any less reliability than the other. If you buy a seconds or some no name unit, sure there's a chance. Name brand, OK.
Cleaning wise. That's on the owner. They all get filthy running suppressed, or with lower end ammo.

I was going with the Nickel Boron BCG and SS barrel for a little more rigidity/wear and tear. The info about how high the pressures are, and knowing what I was going to do with the rifle, I figured I should get a better barrel and good bcg.

Well, friday evening my wife picks me up from work, we are on the way home and while stopped at an intersection we were rear ended. Slam! I pull over to right out of traffic and the guy that hit us gets out of his utility van and say "Oh my god, I'm so sorry, its all my fault. Is anybody hurt?" He too is on his way home and driving his ChemTech company truck. We exchange info and since it seems no one is injured we go home and I call my insurance company and report the accident and by then my wife is in pain and my neck and shoulder are starting to hurt, the insurance lady tells us to go to the ER and get checked out.
Three hours later and x rays and examination we are told that there are no fractures but we have suffered strained muscles and we may have some pain for a couple of days. As of today my neck and shoulder are still tender but my wife is still in pretty bad shape. I will call the other driver's work place and get their insurance info (I have the name of their insurance but not the number) and see what they will do in this instance.

Anyone have any other advice on how to proceed so as to protect myself and make sure vehicle repairs and medical are taken care of? Any personal injury lawyers here that can offer advice?

I've been asking lots of that type of question about this place... Most of the answers have been CA law or local code related. The water line answer is actually easily understandable, once you put on your CA licensed thinking cap: there isn't a basement.

You should have made an accident report with the local PD. Even if it was a walk in report after the fact.

Also, you should have made t he other guy come up with a policy number, not just a name. There should have been someone in the company he could get ahold of for insurance information, even after hours.
