Fell asleep listening to it last night. Had to re-listen this morning.
Take aways:
-Happiness is like a cat. It will never come when you call it. The only way to get it to come is to make your lap an inviting place. (I don't like cats, but I grew up with them, so I know how true the cat part of this statement is.)
-Financial independence is NOT the end goal. Financial independence is just an enabler for the end goals. (This isn't super profound, but it hit me harder his time. I'd heard it before but maybe I just needed to hear it again. I need to do a better job of staying focused on the REAL goals.)
I'd be curious to hear Todd's thoughts on "anything but passive" investing right now... The show was recorded in November, before the recent drop and stagnation and he was talking about how aggressively everyone should invest. Irony, bad timing, or just a market change that wasn't particularly noteworthy?
And, a few more books to put into my Amazon cart... Which now has 47 books in it on a variety of topics that I cannot afford to buy right now, and don't have time to read anyway.![]()
