You haven't even visited either of the bike threads yet. What a let down.

I usually don't have too much to say about mountain bikes.

Mountain biking is more about 'dealing' with gravity. Road biking is more about flat-out speed. (plus, now I look good in all that lycra!)

I mean... I REALLY look good in spandex. It keeps the bush at bay.

Start running barefoot and develop those calves as well.

Wait...I think I remember a post about you getting a pair of vibrams and running 6+ miles on your first day. Never mind.

I picked up a Trek mountain bike from member Izzy for $20 and it's the best bike I've ever owned. I felt like I could really haul ass on it. I rode by one of those speed showing signs in my neighborhood and clocked a blazing...18 mph. What a let down. That was like being kicked an inch below the belly button after sprinting a mile. Haha. Oh well.

18 mph+ on an MTB isn't a joke. That will take it out of you, for sure.

My top speed on a descent was 62.9 mph.

My top speed powered by my own legs was 44.5 mph.
