Run double platnium plugs if you can. I changed the plugs on my 05 Suburban and the old plug gaps were only a couple thou over stock. Honestly it was probably a waste of money to replace them at 85k.

I was talking about gap specs for cars that still DO have plug wires.

Then keep your plugs in your car until your fuel mileage and reliability goes to shit, and then it doesn't run anymore. And good luck getting them out if you waited way too long.

I admit that I forgot why I shouldn't post anything about car maintenance....and that's entirely on me.

Obc, no I'm not discouraging regular maintanace. In fact I have been actually proactive with my cars.
Just wanted to share my experiance with double platinums vs single platinum plugs. In my opinion worth rhe extra dough.

    I shouldn't post while sleepy.

There's still an open service action on the coil packs for my A6, and I can never seem the right time to call the stealership to make a service appt to bring it in. Put 2 NAPA coil packs on it so far to keep it going. Reportedly, they'll reimburse me for those, or at least give them back.

I need to get my truck in for the airbag recall too I guess. And the wife's Suby is also affected.

Never cared much for air bag systems and its forcing down the throat of the planet..... If there was an "opt out" option I'd take it.
