I think this sentiment could fit a great many families. It certainly does in the case with my own folks, and it's different with my friends parents. Dementia is part of the sum on this deal, and that is a game changer for sure. Especially when an outside caregiver starts to indicate to the recipient that amorous interests from the patient are OKAY. wtf? There is some fixing going on with that aspect right now.
My father passed in 2008. After I hounded Mom to make sure she had an updated will, living will, and medical power of attorney, she made me executor of her estate and gave my wife (a nurse) medical power of attorney along with a copy of her living will. Basically, she doesn't trust my shitbag brothers to make good decisions.

I don't have a clue what assets she has, nor do I substantially care, but she has never wanted for more than what she has and lives comfortably. I only wish she outlives me and the old bird just might. My 2 brothers, who live near her, will possibly get the bulk of it if there's anything left, and that's OK because they see her frequently and I don't, and frankly I don't need it. My middle brother bought her house on a land contract and it sounded like he rarely paid the bill and she just signed the place over to him after she sold her other (inherited) house and got remarried to her new (85 year old) Beau in 2015. The youngest brother has done time for something like his 7th DUI, so he would probably just drink and smoke it all. I saw him after he got out last time (in 2016) and he hadn't really straightened up. 53 years old and he's still a fuck up. She trusts me to properly execute her last wishes, can't say much about what the brothers might do. I don't have a copy of her will, but simply the contact info for the attorney/firm where it is held in trust.

I'm certain now, Sling TV sucks and I don't want to pay for it anymore.

Really popular shows have good quality sound, but a bunch of commercials. Not only are the commercials significantly louder than the show, but there are very few actual products, so you end up watching the same Direct TV commercial back to back, four times during the show for at least eight times.

They changed how they do reruns as well. For example, while Rick and Morty was on (three seasons) the would be at least five episodes from each season available at any given time. Now there are only five episodes available period. In addition, they have another five showing, but when you click on them you find that they become available week by week as others expire. Finally, the sound is all crackly like I suddenly have a TV from the early 90's.

So to recap, out of control commercials that are louder than the show, less variety, and just as frequent as over the air. Limited selection of shows. Purposely low quality sound. All for $20 a month. It's like paying for crappy over the air TV. Things are still censored as well.

For the record, I don't like Amazon Prime as much either, but it's world better than Sling.

That doesn't resolve anything as the AFS has the same things roku offers.

Got a Roku tv. The fire sticks have been retired. Love sling. Pretty much only use it for sports which i record. Can't fast forward through commercials as effectively as I did with direct tv, but it is way cheaper.
