Houston is interesting so far. Glad to be out of a hotel park next to a highway and see real stuff.

Apparently Vietnamese-Cajun is a thing. It's big here.

My old manager (and former ex peer) was Korean-Cajun, or as he referred to himself, Kaisan.

At one time (post vietnam) the discourse between locals and new asian arrival fishermen was tense. If not outright at times, violent. That included the whole Gulf coast area also.

Makes sense. I think it would be a short jump from stinky Asian seafood to stinky bayou seafood.

Had a 3rd interview with a company I REALLY want to get into this morning - after working an 11 hour grave shift - with 2 folks that would be my counterparts. Next step is a "panel interview" with 3 or 4 execs blasting questions at me like a firing squad.

It went well this AM, I think. I just want to put my notice in and start a new gig already!!

It was suggested that Vietnamese food already has many French elements due to a France occupation at some time thought history.

It was also explained that Vietnamese-Cajun is NOT a thing in Louisiana, as they don't have the Viet population to pull it off.

Anyway, enough of that, off to new adventures today.

Mother nature got a little carried away in correcting the mild drought condition we have had out here lately. We had been missed most of the recent storms. She has given us over 3" since 10pm last nite.
