Didn't fill a single tag. Three of us had buck licenses. Since I only draw buck once every three years, I spent my focus on that, even though I saw a heard of elk two days in a row. Each day I sat in a different spot and the guy with only a bear tag was constantly surrounded by bucks. I've really learned that you can't really elk hunt if you are deer hunting at the same time. Well, you can, but you have to be elk hunting first, and just happen to see deer. I already learned that lesson years ago, but it hurt more that I still didn't listen to myself this year. Also, my hunt got cut short, but I still had like six days. Oh well. Buddies did down two small bucks and I got to practice my field dressing/quartering skills some more so that was good. Part of not getting too far away from camp when hunting elk is the pain it is to get one back to the truck. The better I get at breaking them down in the field, the more likely I can effectively get to where they are.

You do seem very disappointed. I see it in the way you've been posting since you've been back. Did the match Sunday go well enough to cheer you some?

    Bummer.

I goofed and drew a buck tag 2nd rifle when I only intended for points. Duh.

Very unlikely I'll be able to take that extra time off work right after 1st rifle elk (ES).

Ha that's funny. Things like that don't get me down.

The match went okay, my shooting has really degraded since I haven't shot much this year.

    Today, it is Careabu.

I should write the story about Saxby and Starbucks someday. Boring and short one but it shows how evil Starbucks is (or was).
