Whoa, got this in the mail today. Looks pretty official. Guess who's getting a great deal on a loan?!

I pre-approve you for hand sanitizer. That envelope looks disgusting.

I was thinking that as I posted the photo. Keeping animal hair out of anything in our house is a lost cause.

I can buy replacement parts for our microwave for around $170 or buy a new one for just a bit more. It is an over the range set-up, which I'm not looking forward to installing. What do you think?

Fix it and keep on moving!
New ones are easy to install as long as you dont need to make the opening in the cabinet wider

I can actually buy a new one for about the same price since what I have now isn't a fancy model to begin with. I'm a big fan of fixing stuff, but even if I pick something up for $200, that's also removing all the built up grease that is impossible to clean from my use, and the people who had it before us.

I think you know your answer. You're replacing one part, I assume? If cost = same, why fix?

    Three parts, but I agree.

What parts would be left to replace which likely would go out in the future?

What is the end of life on parts if you buy new (i.e., when can you expect any replaceable part to fail?)?

What is more likely to last longer: the repaired or the new?
