Do you have any tips for completely removing the old caulk? Time to redo my tub and toilet base, but I always have a heck of a time getting all the old caulk up. Last time I used GooGone or something similar, but then the new caulk didn’t want to adhere, no matter how much I tried to clean the tile. Gotta be easier than I made it.

I just had to pick at it and cut carefully with a knife. The caulk removal tool did a great job demonstrating the elasticity of the old stuff.

Thanks. I probably made it harder by trying to find an easier solution, instead of just sucking it up and digging in. As Confucius say, “Lazy man finish last”.

I could lend you my oldest. Just tell him to make sure nothing happens to the caulk and give him 15 minutes alone.

Btw - that amp is getting to be pretty fun. Took a couple tries to find a pickup that worked well, but I think I have it. It brings out a lot of rhythm, hammer-ons and transitional slides (not real terminology) than I realized was going on. Thanks again.

If it was silicone, nothing but mechanical removal will work.

Yeah, 100% silicone. Maybe it doesn’t need replacement right away after all. Plenty of other chores on the list that seem more fun.
