    Yeah, it's for shelving. 1/2 inch stuff sags over time even with kinda decent support. Have a couple of long runs too.

    Probably cheaper to use some other material, then use a thinner veneer of the cedar, BUT I've never built shelves before and don't know if that would be ugly or not, or rigid enough.

    Cedar is a product that moths and mites and stuff, hate. And it kinda smells good. I want to rip everything out, panel the walls with it, and build some brick shithouse shelving.

    The paneling only needs to be standard...1/8" or whatever it is usually is. Maybe the stuff is too pricey to do shelves in, I don't know???

    You do seem to have a better pulse on CL than anyone else I know though, so I know who to ask to find creepy stuff cheap. Not all skills are admirable, but they can be useful.
