I routinely fill my recycle can, and I pack the sum-bee-otch, and then it goes in the trash can.

We generate WAY more recycle materials than true trash.

(What I consider recyclable... They might disagree... But, they can deal with it)

I agree. I don't know why Amazon wouldn't start a box recycling program. Even a place to drop off used boxes would be used and save them money.

I read something, or watched a video or something, actually, I think it was the episode of Penn and Teller's Bullshit about recycling, that said that when you put non-recyclable stuff in the bin, they'll just toss the whole bin. That show was a long time ago, so I'm not sure what the efficiency would be today. Again, I wish they'd pick up the recycle every week.

Trash and Recycling is part of our HOA fees. Both are large bins provided by the company.
Recycle every other week - similar list as above
    Trash every week
Depends on the driver of the recycle truck how strict he is - I think that means if he is really ambitious enough to get out of the truck and dump the bin.
We started tipping at Christmas and give them bottles of water in the summer.
Now, they move the bins back up to the garage and wave when they see us.

If they come on Tuesday I might be tempted to try it out. That?s my regular trash day. I don?t think saving the planet is worth me dealing with having to get cans to the curb on two separate days.

Have you met most of society?

Most of society probably reads that every time is "oh snap, they changed the roolz again... good to know..."

    But, they likely haven't changed...

Mandatory Recycling, strict rules of what goes in which can, 3 different days of pick-up.
If you don't comply, they don't pick up, and then an officer writes a ticket.
It is kind of fun for a couple of weeks of visiting, but it gets confusing at times.
Out here, the trash company we picked said, when asked about a recycle bin. No Problem all in 1 bin. We sort it out at the facility. Yeah but we wrap dog waste in plastic grocery bags, silence on the other end of line. No Problem.
