Mine is a Cosco and someone gave it to me. I think the big name ladders like Little Giant and generally regarded as quality. I've seen the one at Harbor Freight and while I haven't used one, just looking at it doesn't seem like anything is wrong with it.

I was thinking about one of these, but then I would have to buy a ladder tall enough to install it near where the pecker is doing the damage.

Dang if I can't remember the brand I had... PSA if you opt to pick up a used one that's a bit older just make sure it was never part of a recall. Mine was newish at the time but I didn't know about the recall & it nearly killed me.

Broke me proper, so keep that in mind... ; )

What a nice day, picked up a trailer load of lumber early this morning. Tooling up the road, through a traffic circle and i feel this odd wheel hop. Next thing i know, over a loud speaker i hear HEY YOU GOT A FLAT TIRE. Jeep pulled up alongside me to lmk what was happening .

No spare for the new / used trailer. Up to the house and back 1 hr round trip, with tools a spare off the other trailer etc. Floor jack kept for roadside emergencies doesn't work . Pull trucks jack from storage, change out tires. Trailer we used has 14" tires, spare from other trailer, 15" Luckily same bolt pattern.

Casual trip to town and back turns in to 1/2 day ordeal.

The upside is, I Got Wood

IIRC.... measure from the outside of one wheel stud, to the center of the second one over from it, and start carrying a spare.

I didn't really want to blow $130 on a spare, but I did.

Co has 2500 avalanches a year? That seems strikingly high to me, but, if it's on the news...it's gotta be true.
