I saw a 6' woman with bright pink hair at the liquor store on Friday. It wasn't Chick Norris though.

Most people like to think of hording stuff as having no cost.

I like to consider that every SF in a home or a property has a cost. Mortgage, insurance, utilities, tax, etc, it adds up to more than $1/SF/month for most homes. Gives some motivation to clear "stuff" out. A simple 2x2x2 foot box eats $48/year in space, possibly as much as $120 a year in some homes. Storage is never free, even if it is your home - you're either living a larger home than needed as a result, or your living space is drastically reduced, making your large home a small one.

Long story short, to motivate for serious crap removal, just keep adding the number of how much "space $" you are saving a year.. it gets big, quickly.

Of course, certain people have psychological disorders associated with hoarding. I've known some that have, I'm not going to pretend I know a solution for that.

That's a great way to look at it. I've never actually calculated the $/sqft of my house, but I certainly consider the cost of storing what I have.

And then you look at all the storage unit places that continue to get built, and figure that people continue to pay to store stuff they don't even remember they have...

    So ridiculous...

I was going to say: happy little holes - referring to the lead shot on the targets

But since I was shooting with iego & now that he has his new custom title, figured I best keep it rated pg.

The big problem is I know there is value in a lot of what I don't want anymore, it's that I have to justify dealing with CL or eBay to get rid of it all in my mind.

Since I'm already selling huge amounts of stuff from the estate on eBay, I'm adding a bunch of mine to eBay as well.

I found the easiest way to off load "collectibles" is have a massive garage sale. Then close to a year later, see those who made wise buys resell it

I usually just toss my collectibles in a trash can. Seems like the quickest way to get rid of them.
