I bet a face full of googly eyes would disrupt face detecting AI alright.

She (I) cast out a 3.5" crawbug on a Texas rig (with the weight unpegged). She's super impatient with letting it sit, so she'd keep reeling it in, let it sit for 1/4-second, then reel.

I think she was more shocked than the fish was!

XS Max. What I don't have is the googly eyes.

Pretty cool catch by the kiddo.

Kids catching fish is the best.

There are some pics of the minions catching fish in Northpark around here some where.

Change in retrieve pattern will often induce aggressive bass to strike.

Would have been a hoot to see her land it at 5yrs old.

Yup, exactly that. Just when I've been bored too with no bites and decided to quickly reel in to pack it up, I get bites, which then convinces me to stay longer... it's a vicious cycle!

She did the reeling, I held the rod as she was about to lose it to the water lol. What's best, it was her FIRST time going out fishing. She hasn't stopped talking about it, so I think, like the pun, that she's hooked!

(Note: In searching for googly eyes images, found some that were NSFW. I had no idea....)
