Justin's thread about Mr. Villa got me thinking... about the newest surge of traffic & road obstructions in my neck of the woods.
I live off 6th & Colorado Blvd & its absolutely the worse two mile long stretch for stupid busy traffic in Denver. Specific to my daily, I cant wait until the 5600 new residences are completed & yfully occupied along with the movie theater & the myriad of shops are open in the mere 3 blocks of this overdeveloped nightmare. This is where the old University Hospital once stood & shared a campus with the still operating Rose Hospital & related medical facilities.
Ffs, the addition of the Trader Joes a few years ago added 3 - 5 minutes to navigating through the light/intersection on 8th alone. City planning also somehow saw wisdom in allowing their (TJ's) loading dock to be the actual right of way alley which they now illegally block off for all but the overnight hours...
To keep with the theme... the recent addition of (single car length) turn lanes into the development on both streets while removing the one dedicated & useful turn lane from Colorado Blvd onto 8th going east is pure idiocy (this is where 8th ave begins its one way multi lane westerly trek). On both Colorado & 8th the newly painted traffic pattern now alternates every 100 ft or so by 13 degree to the left, then to right then left again & so forth for 2 blocks on what is otherwise a perfectly straight 3 lane road for the entirety of its length (in central D). It is going to be an extra joy to navigate beyond the existing confluence of f*tards once it starts snowing & the lanes are obscured.
I would like to personally slap Denver planning &.... [edited for content not suitable for viewers under 18] ... twice.
Unrelated but yet not so far removed, I have curbside trash & recycling (also large item) pickup the same day as street sweeping once a month April through Nov. Now Denver has installed signage & is ticketing several.of my neighbors for having vehicles on the street all the while we are supposed to put our bins on the street in the same place we are no longer allowed to park. How exactly is this supposed to work geniuses? Just how many times am I supposed to pay for services not provided in addition to the ancillary revenue trap...
I'm well beyond miffed @ this point.
Oh & school starts on Monday too, the joy.
*Apologies for the horrific syntax & more in this post, for not taking the time to review & edit ... so... angry... so very angry. Must. Stop. Writing. Now....
