The Parade of Lights at the Botanical Gardens is impressive. It's a walking tour, worth doing if you've never seen it.

With the reprieve from the cold and snow I hung new gutters over the north and south sides of the cabin. What was left of he old gutters came down when I rebuilt the roof with polyiso foam panels last year. The entries are below the drip edges so ice build up was a problem. I'm sure glad I invested in roll around scaffolding many years ago. I've used it a lot over 25 years. Much better and safer than ladders for many jobs.

I descended into the crawl space where I've cellared a few hundred bottles of wine that I've made over the years. I pulled a 2015 Cabernet Franc and we opened it last night. Stored in the dark at steady cool temps, it's improved nicely. The tartrate fallout is impressive with this rich, fruit forward wine. Just the right amount of oak. Not my best but very drinkable. I look forward to making wine again when we move back to Palisade.

I hope CN is doing OK. Haven't seen her posting for a while.

Always wanted to try to making wine, but I don't drink anymore and I don't think I need another hobby that takes up more basement space.

Ha ha! Three very different posts. The fermented grape libations came after the work was done. And we sip wine to enjoy the flavor. Chugging is for kids and cheap beer. Been there done that.

Making your own wine or beer is an offshoot endeavor of growing, hunting and preparing your own food. Superior quality and immensely satisfying. Old fashioned nowadays. Many people don't even chop their own vegetables. They pay other people at six times the cost.
