And there it is. Maybe this is why she hasn?t been allowed to test up.

I have a nephew that is in his mid twenties and had done karate since he was very young. He?s actually an instructor now at one of the schools. When he was progressing it seemed the school always wanted more money from his parents.

Maybe $20 a month doesn?t buy you a yellow belt?

Yeah, I don't understand the drive for these places to essentially sell belts. It tears down the skill value of the belt systems.

(I do understand greed, but you would think that any authority over the belt system (if there is one) would shut it down.)

I remember you saying you used to play and your parents didn't like it or something.

My parents didn?t have any objections. Probably out of all of the crazy stuff I did in my youth playing a fantasy game might have even brought them a little joy.

I probably still have my dice and a couple of books somewhere.

I was so geeky I even used to buy little lead figures and hand paint them. I had several that really represented some of my characters.

I only mentioned parents because it was in a thread of things you used to do growing up that your parents hated. Now people 3D print figures.
