Change of plans, no more cruise for the honeymoon. We're headed to hawaii!
Best of all, my fiancee's brother-in-law's parent's work at a hotel there and are goign to get us an AMAZING rate on a room. Like, $50/night on a $300/night oceanview room... BOOYAH!
Jim/HB/OBC, what are the storage units sitting on?
I'm basically on clay. I'm thinking I'm going to scrape off a nice and level spot, then tamp it down really hard with my spud bar, then just lay down some large pavers to make a pad. I could also use gravel, but I'd have to come up with some kind of edging so the gravel doesn't spill into the yard. I want the base to be just above ground level so my wife can easily get the mower in and out if she has to mow.

"I am a conservative. Quite possibly I am on the losing side; often I think so. Yet, out of a curious perversity I had rather lose with Socrates, let us say, than win with Lenin."

Sand underneath will help with drainage and prevent too much settling

Okay I can put some sand down. Back in the midwest I'd have to put down a couple inches of gravel under the sand. Here not so sure...
