Not to mention, I'm posting extremely long posts in the post whore thread, so obviously I have too much to say or I am rambling on for too long. There's also a chance that I may not be all that coherent right now and realize that what I'm really trying to say is that I get rolling into segues too easily for my own good.

Speaking of segues and segways. With my knee injury, someone recently suggested that I try to convince my doctor to write a Rx for me to go buy a segway for transportation when I must walk, then to pass the bill along to workers comp. I told them that I didn't think that would go over all that well and I probably would be accused of defrauding the workers comp administration/organization/some-other-kind-of-ation...

Like I said, my girl's pops is a Brigadier General. I didn't approach him like it was a pissing contest. But I didn't come into it with my head bowed and my hand out either. That whole thing about "knowing your audience" was in effect. The man is a respected professional so I was respectful. He's a very successful soldier so I couldn't appear weak (what soldier, in the history of ever, would let his daughter marry someone that he didn't believe was capable of protecting and providing?). In the end I approached it just like I was briefing him on an op. I told him why I was there, outlined why I wanted to marry his daughter and how I was going to make it happen. No issues.

With her mom I spent a lot more time talking about the abstract. How I knew she was the right one. Why we're good together. etc. Again, know your audience. Her mom was a lot more interested in the "why" than the "how" if that makes sense.
Listen to him, he seems to have more coherent advice to give than I can lol.

Well, you looked at it from a military background. My future father-in-law is retired USAF and now works for the German AF, so he's had a huge background of military service. I've never had a single day, the closest I came was taking the ASVAB for USAF OTS, then being offered the job that after taking moved my butt down here to meet his daughter. Never once did I look at the request to marry his daughter as "briefing him on an op" lol

However, I was raised in a very well off family with proper morals, what the meaning of respect is, and taught the true meaning of discipline. Granted, thats probably partly due to the long line of military service in my family too.

Oh yea, and I over think things ALL the time. My fiancee once asked me to tell her all of the things I thought throughout the day (well, mostly the thought processes involved in decision making) and my thought process involved in buying something, can't recall what it was, but it wasn't a life altering purchase, wasn't $1k or more that you'd have buyers remorse with or wished you had bought the other model, and she was blown away at the various aspects of things that I look at.

JM, Spyder and Irving chatting it up in the whore thread? Far out.

The Grey is a Lady?.... you don't happen to be a midget do you? lol

You know, there was something about your posting that I wondered about, couldn't put my finger on it. I'm glad you're here as a CO AR-15 member though.
