Meh, not really. I work 8 nights per month, so I'm home the rest of the time. My Fiancee works 5 days a week and is therefore gone all the time. Unfortunately, I'm stuck with all of the laundry, dishes, cleaning, cooking, etc. But that might change in a few months time when my work schedule could change dramatically as I take on a huge promotion. Talked with the project manager, he said we're still on track and everyone is loving the idea of having me on board. They'll publicize the job postings in the next couple of weeks and then the fun starts.

I talked with my chief engineer about it, (well, old chief engineer) and I'd basically be working directly side by side with him on this project. He said it would officially launch my career and I'd never have to worry about job security due to the scope of the project. Pretty excited, have known about it since May and am just now getting more info.
It's kind of a sure thing, everyone in the project is aware of the project manager wanting to put me in the position and they're all extremely supportive of it. After I throw my name in the hat for the position (which I am the only person uniquely qualified for it, with the experience of the instrument from all aspects of its operations), we have to convince my supervisors LOL. THAT, could be the interesting part!
But thanks!![]()
