    Down here, I can drive about 13min to my local range and get a General Purpose 50yd range all to myself, or a spot on the pistol range, or a spot on the 200yd rifle range, or one on the 300yd range.

    this part is really cool though.

    Yup, I've also seen a guy shooting over the hood of his car right at the edge of the road, basically shooting OVER people who were down in the canyon. I would be shooting back at someone if they were doing that to me. These are the reasons why I spend the $50/year on the family year pass to the local range.

    I only go to the canyon every few weeks to pickup the brass people leave behind. It is seriously a reloaders paradise!

    Its a VERY nice range! They have the land for a 600-1000yd range as well, but they just need the funds to be able to build berms or something. That would be awesome to have this close to me!

    Yea, thats definitely one of the perks of living in a town with a population of 30k and nothing but desert in all directions for at least a 1hr drive on the highway.

    they closed the only, relatively, close range to here a few months back.

    i still have a sad about that.
