Down here, I can drive about 13min to my local range and get a General Purpose 50yd range all to myself, or a spot on the pistol range, or a spot on the 200yd rifle range, or one on the 300yd range.

Or, I can drive 13min to a canyon in the foothills and shoot in a wide open space with lots of other people who have no clue of what firearm safety is and what the line of fire is. I've seen people down range getting targets while 25ft over, someone is still shooting.

Yup, I've also seen a guy shooting over the hood of his car right at the edge of the road, basically shooting OVER people who were down in the canyon. I would be shooting back at someone if they were doing that to me. These are the reasons why I spend the $50/year on the family year pass to the local range.

I only go to the canyon every few weeks to pickup the brass people leave behind. It is seriously a reloaders paradise!

Its a VERY nice range! They have the land for a 600-1000yd range as well, but they just need the funds to be able to build berms or something. That would be awesome to have this close to me!

they closed the only, relatively, close range to here a few months back.
