i was looking to the right and i turned to look left and mrs moose was around 40 feet away in a bunch of shrubs

nope but i saw another moose later a couple miles up the trail but i only saw its butt since it was running for some trees

i was going to take a picture of the first moose so i turned toward her so i could get a good shot

i was watching her as i reached into the camera bag and then she turned towards me - dead on looking right at me

i took her move as an invitation to leave the general area which is what i did - i was looking for her on the way back but she was gone

i also heard my first elk bugle of the season - he was across the creek in the woods and i scanned for him but couldn't spot him
