This was my 4th award of this same medal. I kinda grumbled at the thought of having to change my 'rack'. The Soldier next to me (same rank as me, same award) started crying when they pinned it on her. She was THAT excited about it. Also, she had never gotten an award.....period. This was her first.

She asked me how I had "so many." I reminded her that they generally don't give awards for dodging deployments. I told her to go pick a fight or two without knowing whether you're going to win. Then she can watch the awards roll on in.

If memory serves, and that might be a stretch, you would have three bronze oak leaf clusters on that ribbon. Not THAT much of a change. :-) You can whine when you get to ten and have to add the same ribbon.

I have to buy a new ribbon. Switching out OLCs ruins the ribbon. Since this one is in the middle of a row, I might have to Chang the one beside it, too. Once you take them off and on, then they lose their perfect vertical lines in the ribbon.

yes, I'm VERY OCD about my dress uniform. I still polish my own shoes, too.

and don't get me started on unit awards, ugh!
